Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got my shiny new GS3 last week and i'm loving it. I just have a few questions about rooting my phone. I know how to root the phone and have the software all ready to do it.

When the root is complete will the phone be like before the root if that makes sense. Iam new to android so iam still enjoying the stock samsung experience so i dont want to change the rom i want the stock one with the extra options.

I presume that i cant use kies to back up my phone when its rooted so is Titanium the same as kies for rooted phones and is it hard to use.

My phone is with emobile after rooting is is unlocked for any network.

I know there basic questions but slowly getting into all things android.

    Thanks

Yeah the root changes nothing to do with looks or performance, what it does is unlock the phone for added abilities and functions by certain apps

Titanium is more like taking an app that backs up your apps (including save files like games of angry birds) which is handy when your phone is going to be wiped. Its quite a heavy duty app though that i couldn't imagine using every day as backup. There are backup apps that you can get on the Play Store. Kies AFAIK still works with a rooted phone you only run into issues when you have upgraded your firmware (like the polish version of JB)

nope, thought this myself when i did it the first time but sadly not. There are options online to either buy the unlock code or with a bit more effort find it yourself

Hope that clears that up although if someone has more experience with Titanium backup they might be able to clarify the second question

Unlocking your phone...very easy and I did mine only last week.

Root your phone and download Galaxsim from the Play Store (costs €2 but well worth it)
