Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
My G grandfather was born in Buttevant in 1903. I found this on fmp.ie on the GRO Regiment Birth indices. This information doesn't give the father and mothers name though. Can anyone tell me where I will find this information?

    Thanks

You can order his birth cert in the usual way, just make sure to indicate the references you found already so they know to check the regimental birth index.

R.Dub.fusilier, his name was David C Skerrett, (think the C was for Charles). I know he went on to mary a woman named Mary Pierce and they lived in Tritonville road, my grandfather, David PM Skerrett, whom my mum never really knew lived there as a child. I think he may have been in the special forces.

    Thanks

I had a look on ancestry and full search on the armed forces and conflict section on FMP and on FMP could only find the info you already have , only one David Skerrett turned up sorry. I expected he would have turned up at least in the Militia.
