Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I'd really appreciate some help with this recurring issue I'm having, it's driving me mad!

I recently got wireless broadband from WiMax. The modem is a ZyXEL model: NBG-416N. I'm having issues with connecting it to my Macbook- I'm running OS 10.6.8 and airport card is Airport Extreme. There's no issues with the iPhone that I've seen but I wouldn't use the internet on it as often so there might be and I just haven't noticed. Basically I want to know is it a laptop issue or a modem issue.

I can connect to the wireless, it usually connects straight away, but after a few minutes (usually in the middle of submitting a post ) the wireless just drops. It does the search thing then I have to choose the network again. This is worse at night, it seems to drop constantly.

Lets call my wireless network "MahaWifi". Every time the connection drops it searches for a connection for a minute then says No network selected. MahaWifi will appear in the available networks. If I select it it will bring up the dialogue window that says the network requires a password. "None of your preferred networks are available. Select the network you want to join from the list.." This happens everytime even though I always click Remember this network. It's also on the top of my preferred network lists. I usually get a connection timeout the first couple of times I try to reconnect.

Turning airport off and on doesn't solve the problem. Restarting the computer doesn't solve it either. Deleting the network and adding it again hasn't seemed to fix it either. If i go through the network setup assistant with a new location when I select the network it tells me the password is invalid even though it's the same password that I can connect with the rest of the time.

Also there is no issue with this if I'm connected via Ethernet. It's just the wireless that's a problem.

Does anyone have any ideas here? Is it a computer issue? Hardware? Software?? Or is it a problem with the modem? Or a bit of both!??! All help greatly appreciated! :)
