No lights upstairs

    Hi, my wife had her father fit two new ceiling roses to the kids bedrooms down stairs and now the upstairs lights arnt working,any help would be greatful

    He didn't connect the lights up properly downstairs , most likely a broken neutral connection

    agree most likely a looped neutral,but its unusual for upstairs and downstairs to be on same neutral

    check fuseboard for fuses/tripswitch

    any chance of a pic of connections inside the ceiling rose in case permanent feeds are at centrepiece

    Definitely a dropped neutral, is it a modern house, blue would be the neutral..... older wiring it would be black.....make sure all neutrals are in the same connector/ terminal.

    Id check the DB for tripped or switched off breakers first anyway, then the light fittings that were replaced.

    Are the downstairs replaced fittings, and the upstairs affected lights on the same circuit (mcb)?

    They are seperate,but the kitchen lights and upstairs r on the same mcb

    They shouldnt be on the same neutral so. But anyway, thats another discussion.
