Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Belfast clinic to open to provide abortions.

A private company has announced it plans to open a clinic in Belfast that will provide abortions, the first such private clinic on the island of Ireland
The Marie Stopes organisation says it will begin its services from next Thursday and that Dawn Purvis, a former leader of Northern Ireland's Progressive Unionist Party, will be the centre's programme director.

Marie Stopes says it will be Belfast's first integrated sexual and reproductive health centre.
It will be located at a suite of offices in Great Victoria Street.
To offer abortion services to women it needs the approval of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority. The necessary application has been lodged.
The law governing abortion in Northern Ireland is different to the rest of the United Kingdom.
In Northern Ireland abortions can only be carried out in cases where continuing the pregnancy would have a serious, permanent or long-term effect on the physical or mental health of the woman.
It must be a “medical abortion”, meaning pills are administered, and terminations must take place during the first nine weeks of pregnancy.
This is different to England, Scotland and Wales, where there is a 24-week limit for abortion.

    To long to read,
A private clinic will open up in Belfast next week to offer abortion services for women,Its the first time this has happened on the Island of Ireland.

Is this a good move for women or will it encourage more women to opt for abortions ?

My own opinion on this is that it is a necessary good thing in controlled and certain circumstances.

    Hi realies
The same thread was already closed by another mod yesterday evening. There have been many abortion threads in the past while, so if you wish to discuss this matter it would be best to post in one of those. There is also a thread on the very same subject running in the ladies lounge if you would prefer to discuss it from a female perspective.
    Thanks
    whoops
