Leaving my job

    Hi just wondering if i leave my job with i be able to claim social welfare. the reason Ive to quit is for health reasons.I think if i have a doctors letter when signing on there shouldn't be a problem but I'd like some 1 to clarify this for me thanks..

    you will be signing then for disability benefit or allowance as its on medical grounds - you are not available for work - is that correct. Benefit is your stamps and allowance is means tested.

    hey ya the job im at is very physical so i dont think ive any other choice

    I would say you are probably available for work, just not the type of work you are doing at present. I think the medical cert should be fine.
    Otherwise if you wanted to not work at all and feel like you would be entitled to disability allowance, you should go see cwo who can advise you of options. If they feel DA is right for you you may get Supplementary Welfare allowance until DA comes through-supposed to take months.
