has anyone noticed that when you search with google from google home page there is no search ireland option? It used to be 'web and Ireland' plus images etc. Now just 'web' images etc. Or am I missing something

Been that way for a while, after you do a search, on the left hand side down below the news, images links you will see a link called 'Pages from Ireland', which does exactly what it says on the tin.

Sorry misunderstood I thought you were looking for the old radio button that used to be under the search box.

Yeah, mine has reverted to Google.com now for some reason... It did ask a couple of times and I cancelled, but now it's on .com without asking...

Set your start page to google.ie.

that brings the google autocomplete but will not remember my searches

http://www.google.ie/webhp?complete=0 gets rid of the google autocomplete but will not remember my searches

    Go here: https://www.google.ie/search?q=test

Still shows up the "Pages from Ireland" on the left hand side for me, whether I'm signed in or not

I am the same. See jpeg. Last week it was just with Firefox, now it is same on Chrome. I absolutely hate it.

Not sure if it is a new feature in Google and they are testing it out on a few people or not but can anyone recommend an alternative search engine where it is easy to search for pages in Ireland?

It's still pretty easy. I think it's 3 clicks now instead of two: Search Tools => The web => Pages from Ireland

I noticed a good few weeks ago (shortly after the Google Hijack or whatever it was) when I right clicked on a highlighted word & chose 'search google for x' the results page was google.com whereas before it had always been google.ie. After clearing all history including cookies, cache, form & search history it reverted to google.ie so maybe clearing all history might solve any .com /.ie problems.
