Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apologies if already dealt with, I did a search and couldn't find anything to help me.

I have a friend who is not really technically savvie and they were asking me about their UPC, but I was not sure so am turning here for help please.

They actually have some kind of VIP deal with UPC and get sports movies etc at a knock down rate and have a couple of boxes. (I am saying this because I don't know if it makes a difference). They recently upgraded their digital + box to a HD box, and are paying the HD fee, a fiver or so per month on top of their old rate.

They seem to get all the basic HD channels such as RTE, BBC, SKY 1, Discovery, Eurosport fine. However, when it comes to Sky Movies and Sky Sports, there seems to be an equivalent HD station for every normal Sky Movie station and 2 Sky Sports HD channels. They are receiveiving the standard defination channels fine, but when you put on the HD version, it says something along the lines of sorry you are not subscribed to this channel.

I would presume they should get the HD version once they are receiving the standard version, and can't find anything to say otherwise. Can anyone shed any light please?

No, existing HD subscribers with the Standard Definition SkySports/Movie packs still have to pay an extra €10 a month for SkySports/Movie HD.

Edit: Just to add if you go to upc.ie, click on the Television tab, look at any of the packs, then scroll down to & click on More Info, you'll see the prices for each & extras e.g. add Sky Sports is €33.54 extra a month. Add Sky Sports HD is €48.54 extra a month. there is a difference of €15, but if you already have a HD subscription which is €5 extra a month you end up paying €10 a month extra for SkySports HD.
