Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I am selling my S2 and will be meeting a private buyer soon

Do I just do a back up and save it to my PC and then reset this to factory settlings and if not sold I can just transfer back up file(done with CWM to PC)

Also whats the best way of backing up contacts ?

I want to get an S3 so if sold want to transfer my contacts to this?

Anything else I need to do to wipe but still have the option to back up if not sold?

    Cheers

Factory Reset -> Settings - Back up and reset - Factory data reset.

How much did you get for it by the way?

    Use Google contacts.

...and wipe the internal storage (factory reset won't do this).

Only a potential buyer nothing agreed yet

Know how to do Factory reset just have to remove all pics, and files.

If you do a back up via CWM and save the file on your PC you can still use this file to restore correct?

Also best way of saving contacts?

Realistically the best way of saving contacts is to take the time to upload them to google... Pain to do, but once complete you'll never have to do it again...

Can't you just sync the contacts to Google, hence uploading them all?

Encrypt it using the built in Android encryption - then only way it can be recovered is full factory reset. No chance any of your data will remain.

How and what is this and how can it be done?

If I encrypt it it will go back to factory reset and no access to contacts etc

Factory reset doesn't wipe the internal storage, just the phone memory.

Took all my files from the phone and transfered them to my PC then did factory reset and phone got stuck on boot loop for some reason.

Then installed a ROM via Odin and seemed ok but had to download an app from Market to unlock it and worked perfectly.

Backed up contacts to SIM now I wonder if the buyer will take it after all my effort:rolleyes:

    Thanks for all the help
