Hi,

So I'll shortly be taking out home insurance, and was wondering what people thought about covering specific items, such as a laptop, jewellery, etc. on the home insurance?

It wouldn't add much to a home insurance policy to cover some specific items I have, such as a laptop, but a claim on the home insurance for the laptop could leave me in a much worse position in terms of losing no-claims discount and an increased premium. Is it better to leave that stuff off the home insurance, and look to separate gadget insurance or similar?
