Tomorrow, Saturday 13th v Athlone Town will be the last Radio DBSC match broadcast for 2012. WLR are taking over for the playoffs. On behalf of the team, I want to say many thanks for listening in to us over the season. You the listeners make us who we are. We began in rather trying conditions against Everton in the Cup in May and we have built on that and we are growing. Next year we will be back bigger and better. Anyway, join us for one last time in the commentary box tomorrow night in Lissywoolen at 7.40pm as the Blues look to banish last week's dismal performance against Mervue and set us up nicely for the upcoming playoffs v Longford. Mon the Blues.

Unfortunately WLR's "coverage" of anything waterford utd is shocking.
They won't cover a match unless somebody else pays for it. When they do cover it the have a golf man commentating.
Another reason to just think WLR is absolute garbage.

They might not do everything people would like but at the end of the day, they must be doing something right. They are a very popular radio station with increases in the JNRLI listenership figures each time they are released. They also won Ireland's Local Radio Station Of the Year at the PPI Radio Station Awards 2012 that were held a few days ago in Kilkenny.

Yeah well I suppose that falls into the whole 'they might not do everything people would like' category. Maybe if a few people got together and suggested it, did a bit of a campaign or whatever, WLR may re-consider.

WLR are feeling the pinch like many firms out there at the moment and are cutting back accordingly. They wont cover games unless they get sponsorship but they will be in Longford next Saturday night for the first leg of the playoff. Our final broadcast for 2012 took place in Athlone on Saturday in which the Blues recorded a fantastic 3-2 win despite having just 3 of the regular starting 11. Radio DBSC will be back for the 2013 season bigger and better and will cover as many Blues games as possible whether we are in the First or Premier. A full recording of the match commentary is up on the Radio DBSC website. Just log in and the loop will play automatically. Many thanks to all of you who listened in.
