Just saw a fireball streaking across the whole sky from east to west over Lucan. I could see a distinct orange/red ball with a tail, not the usual blue/white streak. Jupiter is up at the moment, the fireball looked to be about the same size as it but not as bright. Anyone else see it??

I was observing with a group in Trooperstown near Laragh and we all saw it.
It didn't look as bright as Jupiter but it has a distinct green tail.

Crap. I saw nothing, and Im usually poking my head out the window at night. I miss all the good stuff.

I doubt it. The observed object was inside the atmosphere. If it was the asteroid it would have looked more like the fireball on Sep 21st.

I also saw it (from Malahide): heading in a southerly direction and it 'ended' below Cygnus in the southern sky. Time between 11.15 - 11.30 pm. V impressive!
