Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Replacing "portable" in bedroom. TV & DVD combo

    Bloody saorview *grrr*

So I have had a cheapo little portable tv in my bedroom for approx 10 years now and it was GRAND! (Alba boxy little thing) But it seems with saorview I need to replace it - I'd rather replace it than spending money to add a sarview box to an old yolk.

Currently I just plug it in and it picks up Rte 1 & 2, TV3 and TG4 via a circular aerial.

My budget is around €100... :o

    So I've seen this:

    Just wondering
    (a) do I need to buy any additional cables?? Or is this the only money I need to factor in
    (b) what do you reckon about it considering my needs??
    (c) is it flat screen(ish)? Compared with the box thing I have currently??
    (c) anyone know of anything similar but cheaper?!

Anything else I meed to consider?! I am useless at this sort of stuff :o

You could pick up a saorview box and aerial and use that instead of getting a new tv or if you have UPC or sky in living room you could run some coaxial cable and get UPC analogue channels or control sky box

TBH, if it's 10 years old, then I'd recommend buying a new TV, instead of buying a Saorview settop box considering it's a small, older, TV.

That link you posted doesn't work though.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking.

Price has gone down a tenner now so it's €120. Think better spending that, than €60 or so on a saorview box for a tenner year old cube.

    The tv is this:
Alba 16 Inch HD Ready Saorview LED DVD TV - Black. 529/8240

The previous tv I had was alba...
