Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Obama did well on energy. Now tax.

completely disagree. Romney was on the attack and up in his face.

Obama far ahead already, which is a relief, because if ROmney makes it to the whitehouse we're all f**cked

Agreed on part 2! Just thought the turn your back and walk away bit looks over contrived and over-emotional.
But think he'll get tonight - he's talking smart so far, and seems completely engaged.

I love his hand movements :P

    I'm awaiting his specifics.

Obama is going to hammer that "I'll pick a number" I predict.

Barry is handling him like a boss. That was spectacular.

Middle income families will no longer pay on their capital gains. Yay!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 647 ✭✭✭dropkickrugby

Romney says no tax on savings interest, when interest rates are at historical lows. The banks have realised already that they dont have to pay people money for their money. ROmney has some neck - appealing to the idiots that his party has kepts ignorant over the decades.

If this guy gets into power it has serious repurcussions for the world. He's pure danger in every sense, and a walking corporation.

I'm curious as to how many middle class families are overly concerned about the tax on their capital gains and stocks...

    Did Romney just threaten China?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 175 ✭✭The Bishop!

Blames the recession jobs figures on Obama. Classy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85,195 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

No Obama, I disagree. Tax Credits don't stimulate the economy, because they are funded by taxes, which is money you take away from the economy. That's just making waves, not adding water.

Obama is making some good points, but he's droning on too much here.

The deficit hasn't been doubled. It's come down every year since he took office.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Was it me or did Romney really emphasise the foreign word?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,996 ✭✭✭Duck Soup

    Lily Ledbetter Act.

CNN have a live dial for Ohio undecideds to express happiness/unhappiness with what Obama/Romney are saying.

    Romney ahead me thinks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,996 ✭✭✭Duck Soup

I don't think Romney's liking being challenged - either by the moderator or Obama. In the same way that the first debate suited him as he was largely unchallenged either by Obama or Lehrer, the pushback here seems to be disconcerting him.

That's because he never has been, really. Certainly not when he could snap his fingers and people would jump at Bain.

How to make make women equal in the workplace and make their pay the same?

Romney: "Let them go home at 5pm and look after the kids"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,996 ✭✭✭Duck Soup

    Romney getting antsy now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

I just can not find anything to like about Romney, not a huge fan of Obama either mind, but don't think Romney is a better option then him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

How can a Republican talk about equal pay when a Republican Senate (correct me if wrong) didn't pass the equal pay act. Paul Ryan voted against it :D

Interesting question about Bush. Romney talking bollox on the subject. Bush's whole caboodle was based on tax cuts, as is his.

It'd be funny if Obama responded to your man's question about stuff being expensive with "have you tried craigslist or ebay?"
