Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I own and LOVE Estee Lauder Double Wear but find it makes my skin look really white in photos.
Can anyone recommend another foundation that's just as good, but without the whiteness effect? I'm really pale so it has to be a range that have lots of colours (MAC is too orange for me).

The white may be caused by SPF in foundation. So if you're looking for a replacement maybe try something with no SPF. Don't have any recommendations, sorry!

High coverage foundations tend to have extra powder and titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide increases coverage and is also a sunscreen. These cause the flash to bounce off your skin and give that pale appearance. Light reflecting products have the same effect.

I don't know an alternative, ask a make-up artist especially one who does a lot of bridal make-up (lots of photos in natural and artificial light).

The Revlon colorstay foundation has very low Spf, think like 6 or 8, and as far i know the Bourjois healthy mix foundation has no spf, both pretty good coverage.

You could try double wear light. Any estee lauder counter should be able to give you a sample bottle to test. Boots are very good for this. You'll be able to try it for a few days and see if it's any better.

If this is too light you could try a primer. Benefit do a couple of good ones.

Would you not try using a little bronzer to add some color instead of switching your foundation? Rimmel London have a great one. Doesn't look powdery at all and is not overpowering/orange.

Hi, I also use Estee Lauder Double Wear and even wore it for my wedding with no white look, I swear by using the right primer I always use Smashbox photofinish primer and never have a white look in photos

You should try Make-up Forever's Matt Velvet, it photographs much better than Estee Lauder Double Wear, but still has that matte finish and is good for oily skin.

Alternatively you can use a mineral powder or matt bronzer over your foundation, which should counter act the flashing of the SPF.
