Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Zombie Battery

Something strange happened today. I have an XPS M1330 with the big 9 cell battery in it. This battery has been completely dead for well over 6 months now, as in it won't charge at all. Haven't had the money or inclination to buy a new one so I've been restricted to having it plugged in all the time.

Today I turn on my laptop and it's booting away finishing installing an update when it dies, the switch on the wall was off. Strange I thought, that it managed to stay on for about 3 mins.

Stranger still I accidentally pulled the plug out about 15 mins ago and yet here I am with 50% charge left and it's working away no problem. Its discharging very quickly, as in it was at "100%" and I'm looking like I'll get half an hour altogether.

Thing is this was a completely dead battery, had the red x on the icon on the taskbar and was saying "plugged in, not charging" for the last 6 months, maybe more.

Anyone care to offer an explanation?
