Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Wow we are actually struggling.

McCarthy and Andrews better start getting on the ball fast.

Especially McCarthy, really anonymous so far.

Quick question, is McLean injured or is Trap teaching him a lesson for telling the truth?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,801 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

    This is bad.

Nice to see the Samaritans being advertised on the hoardings behind the Irish goal. I reckon the line will get a lot of business tonight watching this dross from Ireland.

If you don't know the answer....

Just saw the Faroes keeper roll the ball out to his full back - epic stuff.

Christ i might need that Samarathans phone number been advertised behind the goal! F##kn hell Andrews.

We had better score before half time

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,040 ✭✭✭markie29

and for what its worth...these pitches are very good for passing when they are a bit wet but obviously we just hoof the ball so it cancels the effect of the playing surface out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,456 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

This is not pretty to watch. Our midfield is totally anonymous. We need to score soon to settle us.

I am being serious, I have taken no notice of the team selection for this match or any of the usual bullsh!t politics that surround the selection process.

Were people expecting anything else given the confidence levels after last Friday night? All teams would take a 1-0 here. Weathered a little pressure which was always going to happen seeing as we generally struggle so badly in keeping the ball. Easy on the panic stations

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,801 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

    Andrews has been crap.

    both players offside, the idiots

Injured allegedly. Or else he just couldn't be arsed playing under the c.unt anymore.

Thanks, being paying no attention to selection, am not sure why I even bother watching this sh!te and upsetting myself.
Don't blame McLean if he is giving Trap the fingers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,909 ✭✭✭Neeson

I'd say Keane and co. were offside anyway even if he did pass along the ground.

panic stations have been happening well before these 45minutes though.

We're getting into good positions and we just don't have the composure and quality to take advantage.

This was never going to be a stroll in the park. The Sweden game showed that. Alas many fans subscribe to Bill's simplistic view of the game that it would be 'inconceivable' that we could lose.

    Andrews has been crap.

crap doesn't cover it. He's playing like a liability and I can see him make a costly mistake

i dont need Bill or anyone else to tell me these 11 players should be beating the Faroe Islands

Not really with me. I know this Irish team is very poor. Germany or Sweden didnt blitz this team so i dont know what people were expecting. As for the quality of play, have ye not been watching Ireland in the past 2 years? This is the norm. We'll get one or two in the second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,376 ✭✭✭Anyone

Not that I thought it would be good, but that was a horrible first half of football to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Andrews has been crap.

Doing a better job than McCarhty at least.

Two runs from Andrews have set up our arguably best openings so far.

Clutching at straws for positives though.

Long, Fahey and Cox - one of them should probably see action soon.

There is nothing a midfield can do when you have o'****e launching it ever time he sees it. He is worse than my 3 year old nephew.

Andrews is dire (newsflash of the year, I know)

    different players, same ****e system

McCarthy has been brutal, Andrews too. McCarthy is doing nothing and doesn't get back and help out either, he also made a terrible pass early in the game which sent the Faroes on the counter. Neither of the two of them getting back to break up the play and as a result the defense is being left exposed. I think they have done a decent job given they are getting no cover.
