How long can you have visa before you use it

Quick question someone might be able to answer for me. Thinking of Canada early 2014 if I apply for the visa when it opens next month how long do I have to use it? Prob the 1 year working visa Ill be applying for - or maybe the skilled worker cant seem to find answer anywhere cheers

You will have 12 months from the date on your letter of introdoction to use the visa
