Scotch Hall lifts

Im just wondering if anyone else’s child has got there hand caught in the lift in scotch hall shopping centre? Last week I used the lift and as the lift door was opening my child (2 years old) put her hand flat on the door as I was maneuver the pram to exit the lift. My child’s hand was pulled into the lift door from her fingers to just above her wrist. I had to pull the door open and pull her arm to release the hand. She was shook and was very lucky that no lasting damage was done. It could have been much worse if all her fingers were not flat against the door (she could have lost some fingers). I let the security guard know and to my shock he was aware this was a recurring issue and informed me that there was a sign on the inside of the lift door. I was surprised that this was their only precaution since the danger of dismemberment (as described on the sign) was so high. I would have expected greater precautions being that the risk was a reoccurring one and it could cause dismemberment. At a minimum a safety guard along the door and an verbal announcement in the lift informing people of the danger.

Report it to the health and safety authority.

Done that they only get involved with public – business incidents when someone actually gets hurt. They did take my number though.

Write to the manager of the centre then perhaps and explain how their inaction could easily have resulted in permanent injury to your young child.

Send it via registered post too.

Will cost you 5/6 Euro but you will have the satisfaction in knowing that they will see by you registering your post, you are serious in your intention to bring the matter to light.

In a minor issue related to their lifts (and just to THEIR lifts), I'm (and others I know) constantly getting electric static shocks off them.
I suspect they are not grounded enough by copper cable.

What if someone gets same who is carrying internally a pacemaker?

Back again with more misinformation. What you're "suspecting" has no basis in fact. It could be couched in uncharitable terms, as utter rubbish as static shocks owe more to floor coverings than bonding arrangements (to which any elevator install has to comply anyway). Please inform yourself before throwing such wild suppositions about.

As opposed to carrying one around in a River Island bag, perhaps.

RoundyMooney, whilst being a resident of the Louth area is by no means a requirement of posting in the forum, it certainly helps. I may be making a presumption, but the only other time you have posted here, was also linked to the member above you. On that basis, feel free to comment on any topic of the Louth area that you like, but if I see that your posts revolve around another members posts, then your time here will be short. Thank you.

For the record, I have posted no mis-information.
I have posted no information whatsoever.

This was a quiet thread discussing lifts.

Once again I get the same usual person jumping in, hunting my posts down and instantly being aggressive towards me.

I am absolute sick of this.

I don't know what this man's problem is but his constant behaviour is ruining every thread he posts into as he constantly has a go at me.

I have done NOTHING to be constantly treated like this.

He has already ran me out of After Hours by his aggressive, ever trolling behaviour - much to his delight I suspect.

He is ruining many a thread by his aggressiveness towards others.

He's ruining every thread he enters with his abrupt and every insulting attitude.

I apologise if I am not up on the mechanics of what causes static.
I posted suspicions and worries - NOTHING more.
There was no need to come on aggressive and insulting.

I am sick of Roundmooney's EVER aggressive, insulting behaviour towards me.

I shall be contacting you further by PM.

Do all lifts not have the same danger of hands being stuck as scotch hall?

What's the story with these lifts now? Are they any better?
