Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Potentially the Real Deal
He should not be compared to anybody, he is his own player and an extremely talented one at that. IMO he is only going to get better and at the moment it is an absolute privelige to watch him week in week out.

I was with you up to here.

Only Xavi, Iniesta and Messi would definitely get into Real's team.

It's a bit of a toss up between Khedira (who's better all round) and Busquets (who's the best dedicated DCM in the world) and Coentrao and Alba but the rest of Madrid's players are better, by quite a margin in some cases.

I think Pedro is a lot better than he's given credit for. And I'd take Fabregas at his best over Ozil. Puyol is better than Ramos imo. Maybe Alves and Villa are not the players they once were, but I think putting out a blunt statement like that about Real being like-for-like better than Barca is nonsense talk, and I'm no Barcelona fan, believe me.

Barca play a system that suits them down to the ground and their players are the best in the world at doing that. The fact that they have played badly in two recent big games does not suddenly mean their players are any worse than they ever were.

I think Ozil at is best is a good bit better than Fabregas at his best, especially in the role that both are playing (link between midfield and attack). Fabregas is better as a deeper midfielder.

Puyol better than Ramos? Ramos is way ahead of him at the moment and has been for a while now, I think the majority of Barca fans would agree!

Bale is a good player, not yet a great player he has a long way to go. I hate the media hype he is getting at the minute though , it's the usual crap of any sign of a British player being in 'Top' class they are all over it, every day , every paper , every article it's headwrecking.

I hope he does well but I hate that F****** goal celebration he does every time, and his hair cut. Nothing to do with his ability though.

    Hes very very good..

Id say hes the best player in the Premier League.. but not near Messi or Ronaldo's level.. yet!

In a top team I could see him being pretty amazing though TBF

I'm actually quite suprised at the amount Spurs originally paid for Bale, 14.7 million Euro, having just turned 17 is pretty big.

    Money well spent now thou.

He is deffo in the conversation for it along with RVP and Mata imo.

He's certainly in the conversation for most in form player but if I was to make a list of players I'd take if I was starting a team I'd be looking at the likes of Aguero, Silva, Rooney, Suarez, even Walcott along with the two above before I would Bale.

I think you would be in the minority there but each to his own.

You'd have Bale over Suarez? Bale is superb but Suarez is the 2nd best player in the league after RVP.

Yeah I'd have to agree with eagle eye. It's hard to gauge best players as they all generally play in different positions. I think RVP and Suarez are up there with him going on current form. I will admit to being a Spurs fan so take my view as biased.

No he's not although he is in much better form than most of the other contenders for that title.

    I'd go along with this.
    1) RVP
    2) Suarez/Aguero (both a decent amount off RVP)
    3) Bale/Mata (neither are too far off Suarez)

Kompany has to be in there somewhere too

You're missing Rooney imo. Think he's the most productive player (in term of goals/assists) in the league behind RvP in the last 2 years. And during that time he's played virtually zero times as a number 9.

He's another who would have to be there or there abouts yeah.

And Silva and Toure and more. If Bale's good few months isn't enough to justify him being talked up then either can a bad few months for someone else.

Yaya Toure being mentioned in the above company is insanity.

Not imo. He's been poor of late but was destroying teams for the majority of the time up until then.

I'm not disagreeing on Bale at all, I def rate him as one of the best.

    The Real Deal Now
He's behind Van Persie and Suarez this season but he's not a "durty foreigner" so he's the best in the league, clearly.

Hard to compare Bale and Suarez. Two compeltely different players.

I don't think people are comparing them directly, it's more a ''Suarez is a better forward than Bale is a winger'' comparison and vice versa.

If Walcott was put in Bale's role in a team built around him like that then he would look as impressive imo. He already has a similar amount of goals and more assists this season. He has worse long shooting but is a better finisher than Bale, pace is about the same. Bale beats him on power and gamesmanship but not much else.

Walcott's stats are fairly impressive for somebody who people rarely talk about when mentioning the best players in the league.

Cazorla, Walcott, Wilshere, Benteke, Mata, Ba, Cech, Hazard, Fellaini, Baines, Berbatov, Suarez, Aguero, Hart, Silva, Zabaleta, Kompany, Van Persie, Rooney, Rafael, De Gea, Begovic, Michu, Bale.

All players I'd have ahead of Yaya. There are some there that people will rate higher than others and invariably some below Toure (others may even have more players they rate higher), but I think when compared with the likes of Van Persie, Aguero, Suarez, Mata, Bale, Rooney and Kompany, I think there can be no question of the gap in quality between these players and Yaya Toure.

I would take Bale over Walcott any time. More powerful, versatile, explosive, got a better shot, better set pieces, more consistency, better crosser of the ball, stronger on the ball, better composure in front of goal, a better all-round finisher...

Reus & Gotze have got to be in around Bale's level haven't seen any mention of them .

I haven't seen much of Gotze but his stats are damned impressive for a 20 year old. Probably better than Bale but you'd have to get on to one of the germanophiles like Kess or Nuri to get a better idea.

just scored a belter there, spurs were 0-0 with southampton 5 mins left, massive goal

    20th league goal..

His ability to hit the target so consistently while moving at pace is really impressive.
Didn't have a great game today but still dragging Spurs towards a possible Champions League qualification.

Unbelievable. He has scored so many crucial goals for Spurs this year, they wouldn't be anywhere near 4th without him.

He was absolute muck today! Uninterested, gave the ball away, just couldnt get going.

But he came up with the goods in the end. Credit where its due

Great players score when on form or not.

He deserves credit where it's due.
