Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cork City Council has just issued a flurry of alerts via email and SMS to anyone who is registered with their warning system.

Their alert system registration is here: http://www.corkcity.ie/smsregister/
The following flood alert has been issued by Cork City Council on 16th October, 2012

    CORK CITY FLOOD ALERT

High tide is due in Cork on the following day/time

    Wednesday 17/10/12 7:13 hours and 19:34hours.

Risk of flooding in vulnerable areas in Cork City prior to and after the these tides due to a combination of low barometric pressure, tidal surge and prolonged heavy rain.

It is possible that flooding may occur on Morrisons Island, Union Quay,South Terrace, Georges Quay, Proby,s Quay, French’s Quay, Wanndesford Quay, Sharman Crawford St., Coal Quay, Lavitt’s Quay,Kryl’s Quay, Kennedy Quay, Centre Park Road and Monaghan,s Road and the low lying areas of the City Centre.

Steps should therefore be taken to protect properties.

I would say if you've a car parked anywhere in the low-lying ares of the city centre, now's the time to move it!
