Hey folks Have some pears at home that I want to cook with. Would love a recipe for a cake - kind of a madeira sponge with the pears in either whole or chopped up. Anyone got any ideas? Have searched BBC food and cant find what Im looking for. Thanks

I made a pear cake at one stage years ago which was a normal cake but with diced pears in the batter and some of the tinned pear juice as well
then some halved pears on top when the cake is nearly fully baked
