Charity Scam?

If a company isn't listed here:
http://www.revenue.ie/en/business/authorised-charities.html

Does that definitely mean that they are not a registered charity? I am trying to find out more information on a suspicious looking sports "charity" in my workplace...

Not being a charity doesn't mean a scam, your local sports club isn't a charity its a non profit .

I understand that, but when the leaflet has "Registered Charity" plastered all over it I don't think its a local sports hall.

There is no legal register of charities in Ireland:
