    Hi all, new to Galway, looking to pass a bit of time in the evenings/nights, meet new people etc.. and wondering what the Hold 'em scene is like around Galway. Preferably something like €20 freezeout or whatever, so it doesn't get tooooo costly :D (I am a poor student after all).

    The more the merrier :)

    Hi Bluegrass, welcome to Galway. There's a tournament on tonight in the 4 Aces Casino, it's free entry and €10 re-buys (optional), normally 70-80 runners so get there at 9pm so you can get a seat and avoid being on the waiting list!

    Missed that tonight as I only saw your post now, sickened, would have went and all was bored.. so at the 4 aces, that tournament tonight, your given the starting stack for free? And just pay for the re-buys?

    Yup chips for free, then a tenner re-buy! Had 72 runners tonight, BTW on Sunday there's €5 reg with €5 re-buys!

    NUIG have a poker society that meet weekly, it's usually 10 or 20 to buy in. I don't know much about it beyond that, but I could tell you how to get in touch with them if you're interested.
