2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming/ Video Editing ( Song Vegas Pro ) and Photoshop, general streaming of movies and clips on youtube etc

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

5. Do you need a monitor? No

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1080p 50" samsung 3D flat screen tv

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? wifi enabled

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

8. How can you pay? Any means

9. When are you purchasing? as soon as

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? South Dublin

Additional needs, HDMI port and Sd Card Readers, Blue Ray drive and 3D if possible. Also a drive that can burn blu Rays as well as standard dvd's

Where in south Dublin are ya? if you can reach my neck of the woods I can help ya build it but I can't travel cause I don't drive.
The English version of Windows was out of stock so you'll need to download an English version and use the Key from the non-Englsih version.
One more thing I wouldn't use a 50" TV as a monitor tbh because at that size the gaps between pixels are going to very noticable when up close to it but that's just my 2 cents

Cheers for the post! With this configeration above how would this compare to the x51 or
aurora.

Be miles above the x51 and be better then the aurora aswell, Alienware comps are badly unbalanced and overpriced, for example the cheapest aurora which is €1349 has an i7 which are good (would only cost you an extra €100 to add to your build) but offer no benefits over the i5 for games so a fair waste of money there and for the graphics card it has 555 gtx which is outdated and nowhere near as good as the 7870 and you only get a 1TB HDD with no SSD and no blu-ray burner either.
Somehow an XPS 8500 for €969 which has a 7870, i7 and 2tb HDD was much chaper and better than the Aurora so Dell's pricin makes no sense what so ever but the XPS still has no SSD or blu-ray so I would still recommend going custom.

Edit: Also I only chose that case as reference but if you want to choose your own case you can, here's the catagory:

I'm glad I have someone like you to help with this because I wouldn't have a clue , I know the basics and what the number mean but obviously not as detailed! So would that set up be able to run pretty much any high spec game and editing software?

Ye probably would get a different case I can be a bit tacky sometimes and like lights shinning through haha!

yep should run just about every game at maxed resolution at 1080p and the ram and ssd would make video editing alot quicker espiecally during encoding (i use vegas myself)

are you going to need a hand to build it?

Cheers thanks for all the help, will nee help but don't know If I can get up to Louth. Well when I get everything and I have a bit of free time ill contact you and let u know! One last thing before I go, before I place this order would u be happy with the make or brand of the parts installed? Wouldn't want to spend all that money for if to be flimsy ! Cheers

louth? i don't live in louth i live in arklow south wicklow which is only an hour drive from south dublin.
all the parts i recommended are high quality components from well known brands but since you choosing your own case i would recomend posting it here before you add it to your final order so we can let you know if it's any good

Sorry was replying on my phone and thought ur location said Louth , Don't think I could get up to Arklow anytime soon but like I said when ever parts come through ill contact u through boards if I need help, really appreciate ur time and help so far metal head.
