Now I'm going out for dinner tomorrow. Normally, I'd just eat what I want and not care but I've got another function the next day (wedding!) so don't want to go overboard on food tomorrow!

Anyone able to help me pick out the best main course from this menu? I eat basically everything! :D

    I'd really appreciate it!

    define best?
do you mean most healthy? least filling? least calories? best tasting?

id go with the steak. 86 the the onions and use the garlic butter sauce (a little)
but to be fair, id go with steak in most situations.

    I'd go with the salmon.

    I would hazard:
Starter: Soup (without the bread) or the chicken caesar salad (dressing on the side)
Main: Probably the sea bass or salmon
    Dessert: Black coffee

That, however, is no craic whatsoever. If you don't eat out that often, I'd just have whatever I wanted and then go for an extra long run or workout the next day.

Edit: Just read about the wedding the next day.

are you trying to lose weight or simply eat more healthy?
either way, 1 meal and a wedding is not going to derail you.

both goals are looooong term, a few extra calories this week is not going to matter in 6 months or a year. as long as this is an occasional 'treat' and not weekly thing

My advise is eat what ever you prefer, stop when you feel full. and view your 'weight loss' (if that is your aim) over the course of years not individual meals.

Thanks for all the advice lads/ladies!

Yeah I just want something that doesn't send me MILES above calories but obviously something I'll enjoy!

The salmon with salsa verde was actually what I was thinking! Sounds yum!

I'd go for the soup (if it's not cream based), forget the bread.
Mains, the prawns sound OK and the stir-fry.
Basically ask for anything that comes with sauce to be served in a separate dish, choose things that are steamed or grilled, without skin or oil and load up on veg.
