Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One of the things which i cannot understand with the CSO figures of 84.3%
is how the travellers near me, drive on average vehicles not older than 08-09?, I assume they aren't employed as they are in private rented accomodation paid for by the HSE, yet they also have numerous brand new cars?? I dont understand how that is possible, I mean how can it be missed, no income from no employment? but new cars? if a person can afford a new car then in my opinion the HSE should not be paying for accomodation.

I know someone will say I begrudge them or I have something against them, do I? dont know, but as a person that worked since they left school, is ineligible for social welfare and assistance from the HSE it makes me think that state assistance should be reconsidered towards anyone that can afford to buy a new car at least.

its a community which the politicians dont want to touch with a barge pole( minority group etc. ), so they get away with pretty much anything.

Even if a department( CAB or whatever ) was forced to investigate noone would be willing, if i was working there i wouldnt do it.

What i would like in this country( and its not specifically aimed at travellers ) is scrap metal companies to have to log who/where the metal came from and to be audited. Saves on people bringing in public property for scrap metal.

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means

Can you blame them for perhaps being angry with the state? They probably gro up resenting the settled community for treating them from birth like dirt.
    "It's their culture"
This is not a traveller problem ....it is a problem with our community and travellers and the state.
    Again, "it's their culture".

    =-=

As long as we allow them to use "their culture" as an excuse for anything they do, I can see no reason for them wanting to work in a job that the state would see them as being "employed".
