    hi gardeners..my sunflowers have reached their peak..eight foot or so...my question is how do i go about collecting the seeds?the petals and leaves are starting to wilt so do i leave them in situ to ripen or cut head off and shake out..any advice ?thanks

    you could leave the seeds for the birds?

    If you can find some sort of fine netting you could tie it round the head and let the seeds naturally drop into that then take them in to dry. And leave some for the birds :)
