Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iPhone 4 - Mutes Calls

My boyfriend has a iPhone 4 (16gb) and it has recently developed a fault where he answers a call, or makes a call, and it mutes so no one can hear him. The only way to resolve this is if he presses some numbers on the on-screen keypad.

Has anyone experienced this before? More than likely an Apple repair job but its a weird one.

Sounds like either dirt in the connector or a software issue.
Hover the connector to remove an fluff/dirt hiding in there and maybe do a restore (back up first!)

Hoover or blow it with your mouth.... ?

Also a hard reset ? If it is a software glitch then a hard reset should fix it.

Sorry, yeah hoover (bad English day lol)
I suppose a hard reset should go before a full restore, you never know. Maybe even needs doing twice.

The screen was smashed and that caused it so it must be something more than dust :(

You should probably have mentioned the smashed screen on your first post...

I wasn't aware it was dropped when i opened this thread. Probably will need to be sent to Apple. Thanks for your help

No worries. The screen thing is probably why. Dropped phones can develop all kinds of issues.
Get in touch with Apple and hopefully they'll sort it. Good luck
