We Love Ibiza celebrates their 1st Birthday with Tony Lionni flying in from Berlin for his first appearance in Dublin in 2 years.

Tony Lionni has had a busy couple of years releasing on key labels such as Freerange, Madhouse records, Defected records, Ostgut-ton, Versatile, Mule Musique and of course Francois K’s legendary Wave Music.

His musical style is a perfect fusion of Detroit tinged techno and brooding deep house and has gained him plaudits and support from press and DJs alike.

After the massive anthem that was Found a place released on Ostgut Ton for Berghain which was voted as one of the top classic house tracks of the decade saw the release of a glorious 12 track album for Freerange records.

A resident of Manchester in its 1980s Chicago / Detroit acid house heyday, Tony Lionni could be found partying at the Hacienda with the best of them. Now resident in Berlin, the producer has managed to find the meeting point between these three great cities.

Next release plans for 2012 are a brand new 10 track album coming in October
and a new 3 track EP for the excellent APT international from Tokyo.

    Where's the gig?

Did he not play here a few months ago? I remember seeing posters and stuff floating about the interwebs at the time.

He was meant to play the Turks Head but the venue cancelled 3 days prior to the date.
Was with a different promoter, so this is his first Irish date in over 2 years. Its in Lafayette Cafe Bar on Westmoreland Street

What happened in there the other night, Tony didn't finish out the night ???

It actually seemed like he walked off in disgust, the faders were pulled down twice before it happened, maybe it was something to do with that?

Either way, he walked straight through the dance floor, and didn't give anyone the time of day on the way out, looked well pissed off.....

    Any explanation?
