Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Since Enda Kenny is effectively the captain of the ship that is our government it amazes me that he and his colleagues haven't a clue of the realities in the public sector and its front line staff.
I know for example in Ryanair that senior management including O Leary do a couple of shifts a yr in each department of the business just checking out how it is running and like a sort of spot check to gain further insight.
Why can't Enda turn up unexpected do a ride along in the Garda car and listen to the Gardai what are the real issues, why can't he go into an A and E ward and work a shift or just observe,if he went into a dole office and just watched what was going on or he worked in a fas for a day.
Surely this is what he should be doing 1 day a month I know I would do it and expect it of all the ministers without looking for special favours and being treated as a member of staff for a day.
Is he too good for this or do they not see the big picture.

Does O'Leary fly his own planes? Appear in his own smutty calendars? Chauffeur his chauffeur?

Being a teacher he would find it very hard to understand any other point of view bar his own

I can't decide which is worse; sailing in a ship captained by Kenny or flying on Ryanair. I think I'll walk instead.

I wonder what happens if he needs healthcare. Does he have to wait in the waiting room like everybody else or does he just bust past everyone? Or perhaps all his specialist consultants, gp's and doctors have to go to him

And before anybody says private hospital, you still have to wait in line for those too.

I would like to see him as a TV licence inspector. I'd say to him, "I've heard all the excuses, none have worked. fupp off."

According to the man himself flying planes is the only job in Ryanair he hasn't done. I have had my ticket checked by him when he was traveling with his family. Was on first name terms with all the staff too.

I don't give a damn what he does as long as he does a good job - and he is doing exactly that.

Maybe...the reality is he is the captain of Ireland and much like our soccer we are not really a worry to the ruling elites of europe...they will do what they want and may toss us a bone if so inclined.

This should be merged with one big whinge megathread - keep all the malcontents in the same place.
(OP was a good suggestion mind)
