Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Two teams still searching for some league form meet as Rodgers second club as senior manager visit Anfield.

The international break has not been kind as per usual - Reina doubtful with hammy strain, Borini under the knife, Gerrard doped up on Night Nurse (okay made the last one up), Lucas and Kelly remain sidelined. Enrique might be back to starting though which would put Johnson back in his preferred side.

The midfield has Shelvey back as an option, while everyone else seems to be fit.

A new name to me in black - Roger East with only his second Prem league game as ref. He loves his cards.

Any kind of a win will do, not fussy.
A 3-0 home win would be nice though, no injuries would be an added bonus.
Games after internationals are notoriously hard to call.

That's good for us imo as we should be the team attacking most. Stoke were let away with murder in our last home game and with a stricter ref we probably would've won.

It's always hard to know if we can win these type of games. Despite it being Reading at home I'll be over the moon with 3 points. We need to get into a regular habit of winning these types of games, and it's obviously something we've struggled to do for a while now.

Nice to have Shelvey as a genuine attacking option off the bench.

Coming off the international break it could be a tough game. I'll predict a 3-1 win for Liverpool, but I'm not sure it'll be easy.

4-0 Liverpool. Two for Suarez, one for Skrtel and one for Agger

I prefer LuckyCharms' threads, they had a touch of class about them even if we never won the match.

2-0 reading, 2 og's from Suarez before hitting the bar with an easy tap in for the hat-trick.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭livinginkorea

I say 3-1 to us. Would love a clean sheet but recon that won't happen. Definitely I think we will outscore them but to think we won't let one in might be wishful thinking.

    Come on the pool!

Suarez is promoted to Capt. in my fantasy football, after I missed him against Norwich....typically this means he will not score and probably get sent off...sorry guys..

expecting a nice victory today though

Thanks man. I had surgery on ruptured Achilles last week so I haven't been near my pc since. I'll get the match threads back in the next couple of weeks.

P.S. thanks to mike65 for keeping the treads going

    Orly?

So if the ref gives a dodgy penalty and Liverpool lose 0-1, you won't be using it as an excuse?

    Cool.

Your achilles shouldn't really affect your boards usage, unless you're trying some next level manouvers.

Absolutely. If we can`t beat Reading at Anfield we might as well just give up.

    No excuses.

"ITK" team nicked from someone elsewhere (not Duncan Jenkins I'll assume!)

    my guessed formation.

    Jones,
    Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson,
    Allen
    Sahin---Shelvey,
    Gerrard----Suarez----Sterling,

EDIT - BBC confirms Reina not on team bus.

Haven't been in the thread much the last while but is Suso injured?....would have him in there ahead of Shelvey.

Quite excited to see that team if Gerrard plays in the front three. In serious need of a win today.

You should pick up a result against Southampton.

    I'd say so alright.

He must have been convinced he'd be backup to Pepe Renia.

    Bad form from Rodgers.

It's ridiculous. Why not have Yesil or Ngoo or someone on it?

It's very annoying alright, at least the cup games and Europa league are giving him games, next season will probably be his season to make the push to first team hopefully.

Hate seeing the likes of Carra and Downing ahead of young talent. Oh well.

    Reading 2-1

    Jones gives away a penalty.

    Skrtel own goal.

Liverpool hit the crossbar 11 times and miss a penalty.

Now that I have predicted it, surely none of the above will come through.

Either the manager doesn't rate Coates or hasn't the balls to make a big call
    Presuming he's fit of course.

I would settle for this because it will have meant we got a penalty

I would go with the latter....If he didn't rate Coates we would have read about it in the paper by now.

Jones, unfortunately, is not a Premiership standard goalie. No matter how bad Reina's form has been, he's potentially a big loss today.

i think he has shown he is brave enough to make a big call
Coates isnt exactly reliable either but i would have him ahead of Carragher

Happy with that team. Sad that Yesil or Coates didn't get a spot on the bench.
BR obviously not got the Ba11s to drop Carra :(

I heard sucking is the thing the Uruguay coach looks for most when picking his squad.

I suspect Carra's on the bench for his versatility. Remember BR picked Coates against City ahead of him.
