Error sending emails, but receiving ok

    A friend has an all-in-one PC running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.

    He is using Windows Live Mail and Hotmail.

    He can receive and read emails, but when he clicks to reply or compose, he gets the following error:

    "Internet Explorer has stopped working"

    Would anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this error?
