Clonsilla is a popular place for boy racers/joyriders. If this was the case then i'm only glad that no-one else was injured/killed.

I live there now, but driving to work at 6:45, I seen nothing at all but I believe it was between the petrol station and Willowwood.

Does anyone know what time is actually occurred?

ps: According to at least three FB status's, it was chased by Gardi so either the car was stolen or the passengers were not stopping.

I would take those status's with a pinch of salt. I'm simply pointing out what is being posted.

Roads reopened again, apart from bark gone off the tree and floral tributes you wouldn't know it happened at all

Heard it was drink driving on way home from Heaven night club at around 4am. Tragically at the same spot where the father of one of them was killed around 3 years ago.

From the look of that car they were exceeding the speed limit by a massive margin. They were playing with fire and got burnt. You pays your money and you takes your chances.

The only thing I am grateful for is that it was a single car accident. It could have just as easily wiped out a whole family including children. All we have to do is look at what happened down the road in Galway where the two infants out for a walk with their father were killed. From the TV pictures that car was being driven a lot more responsibly than the car (mini??) in the picture above.

Another thing, I have never seen a male drive a mini. Was it their own car? Was it stolen? Did the occupants have previous convictions for car theft?

    Just wondering!

AFAIK (rumor) it was his girlfriends Mini that he was insured in and he was an apprentice butcher the other one worked in Mcdonalds Blanch, so two hardworking kids gone.

This was in the early hours of the morning so most people especially children would not have been out at that time if it was in the day he couldn't go that fast because of the traffic as its quite busy there, but the point on speeding taken they where doing double maybe treble the limit for that road which was stupid.

The fella in Galway had a seizure while driving and was no doubt doing the speed limit but blacked out unfortunately, His brother had to tell him what happened in hospital he couldn't remember a thing.

As for playing with fire, didn't we all at some stage? Im glad I grew up out of the stupid things I done when I was 21/24.

    R.I.P lads

OK folks, as we have often mentioned in other threads, speculation and rumours aren't helpful. This is a tragic accident and two young men have lost their lives. As they're probably local there's a good chance that some of their family or friends could read this forum, and we certainly don't want to cause them any further pain than they're already suffering.

As the initial question was answered there probably isn't any need to keep the thread open, so I'm going to lock it now.
