Top Education Apps - What would you recommend?

Hi all

I've just purchased an iPad as a Christmas gift for my six year old daughter and I'm looking for the best/most educational Apps for her age group.

Between now and Christmas I'd like to download them, it doesn't matter whether they are free or paid for just as once as they are educational and age appropriate.

I would be extremely grateful if the teachers, teaching assistants, parents and students on this forum could make some recommendations.

I don't know about apps but I use http://starfall.com, http://more.starfall.com and http://ictgames.co.uk all the time with my infant classes. Very enjoyable and starfall is better than anything I've come across in terms of content and ease of use. Parts of more.starfall are subscription based but the original site is free.
