Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Friend had her iphone stolen at the weekend, used the 'find my iphone' app to lock it and send msg to thief (known person) who left it back in the bar they took it from.
Friend now cannot unlock the phone. Does anyone know how this is done?

    Any help much appreciated.

Are you sure you didn't steal it? you can enter the password you set when you enabled remote lock on the phone.....

Na mate :D wouldn't have an iPhone if you paid me ;)

    'iPhone is disabled
    Connect to itunes'

Is in red at top of screensaver (with slider on it)

When ya slide to unlock, all it says is emergency call, and the keypad.

Went to 'lock your phone' on app and it said it would be locked with pre existing pass/lock code, but it doesn't ask you to input it anywhere to unlock the bloody thing

the password would have been setup when findmyiphone was first started

She enters her username/password - to itunes account - in order to use the app, which it accepts ok. As said can tell the app to remote lock or remote wipe.. don't want to wipe, phone numbers etc.

Re-installing itunes at the min to see if it'll pick up on the phone being connected when its installed fresh...

Re-installed itunes, now it's recognising that phone is attached to computer, but says that it can't sync as the phone is locked and needs to be unlocked using the passcode..

Phone does not request a passcode

was there a passcode on it before it was stolen?..if so the thief may have disabled the phone by entering it incorrectly a few times.

i did this to my own phone while drunk :( had to stick it in DFU mode and format the whole thing!

Are you sure it's not asking about the sim code?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,071 ✭✭✭Firblog

The phone had 'sim locked' at the top of the phone; emobile said sim isn't locked.

There was a passcode on it prior to being stolen ok.

Spoke to guy who does a bit of jailbreaking of iphones, said it was banjaxed and needs to be wiped...
