In my fourth year at UCC and heard a few reasons why there is feck all signal in the wgb. Anyone have a proper answer? Even in the likes of g02 next to the windows there is none? There can't be a blocker or signal jammer in case of emergency surely?

There are no blockers or anything like that. it's just all the concrete in the floors and walls. Even while they were building it and the floors were all empty the reception was crap.
There are 2 Vodafone repeaters on the roof now, so it has improved for Vodafone users.

But it can't have much more concrete than a standard building that size surely? Even by the window there's none, it's like they're lead coated or something!

Maybe they used a lot of steel rebar in the walls making a bit of a Faradays cage out of the place! It is strange though to be fair given the amount of glass in the place. Maybe it's just a bit of a dead spot where there was no major need for phone reception before the building went up and it was never really remedied.
