Therapie Clinics & Tattoo Removal

Hi, I'd like to highlight a strange encounter i had with a therapie clinic, saturday gone. I have some indian ink tattoos i need of my arms for work reasons. I made an appointment with a therapy clinic, who advertise tattoo removal etc on their website. When i arrived, i had to fill out a form, then the assistant asked to see the tattoos. She asked were they indian ink tattoos? i said they were. She said " oh, we can't remove indian ink tattoos and that their is not a laser machine in Ireland that will remove indian ink tattoos" she mentioned the color of the ink i had in the tattoos, blue and green, she said they are unremovable. I was gobsmacked but doubted what she said was true but i did nt question her. I left the store, went to another establishment that i was told about. I explained my story and asked for a second opinion. They were shocked to here that such a sweeping statement was made and that this was totally untrue that indian ink tattoos can't be removed. To cut a long story short, i paid for my first treatment there and then, i now have the bare outline of the tattoos, and one more session should see them gone.

I have been trying to get somebody from the store to talk to me on the phone, but they won't, all calls to the therapie clinic are routed through a call centre low call number.

They certainly should give up advertising tattoo removals. Or is it the stick on transfers they remove:D

2 sessions and there removed:eek: Hows that. I will need at least 10 for a small to medium sized tattoo

Can you post a before (if you have one) and after shot? Be interesting to see. Seems mad it'd only take two sessions.

Id imagine since its indian ink its a poorly done tattoo with the ink not deep enough in the skin it's probably badly faded as is.

In my own experience of therapie clinics and tattoo removal they wouldn't have the best of knowledge on tattoos and seriously over charge, I have one session for 130 euro, were as if you go to a tattoo studio sessions can be got for between forty to fifty euro.

From what I've heard of Therapie they rip everyone off and haven't a clue. I didn't know they did tattoo removal but I've heard the charge and perform laser hair removal on people who's hair is far to fair to be removed by laser. Also they always say that hair removal is reduced 'this month only' every month so people think they're getting a discount when they're actually paying full price. Considering they're a franchise that always seem kind of dodgy to me.

Those ads that are repeated non-stop drive me mad too!
"I'll never have to shave or wax again!"
That's NONSENSE! It's permanent hair reduction, not removal. You will not be 100& hair-free after a course of (typically) 6-8 laser treatments. You'll have less to groom, but there'll still be something growing back.

A friend went to some clinic in Dundrum that guaranteed 2 years hair-free, so every time she saw a hint of fluff she was back out to get her legs zapped. Think they had their hearts broken with the amount of free appointments she had, but that was their guarantee! And she has very very little hair on her legs now as a result of oodles & oodles of FREEBIE treatments. They don't give that guarantee anymore. :pac:

Although I suppose that girl doesn't have to shave or wax ever again if she doesn't want to. The false advertising just annoys me! (Sorry, that was a bit off-topic :o )

Apologies for delayed response. I went to Laser Academy on Academy Street. Absolutely top class. I only needed two sessions. Totally gone now. I would highly recommend

75 for first session. It comes down five euro for every extra session then.

Thats a bit pricey in the current market in all honesty for a first session, and since yours was totally gone in two session it must have been seriously faded in the first place.

No actually it was the opposite and on my arms since I was 17. I had four. And I also believed it would cost a fortune to do but it didn't

It was worth it for me . No they were very prominent on my arms . That's why the girl in therapie thought they were unmovable

I call shenanigans. If its removed in two laser session its a poorly done or badly faded tattoo fact.

I call shenanigans, wait 4 laser removals or two to remove it? Or 6 in total:confused::confused:.
    Four tattoos

So wait you had four well done tattoos removed in two laser sessions?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,255 ✭✭✭✭Esoteric_

Not being smart here at all, but it takes a LOT more than 2 sessions to remove even one well done tattoo.

My mate has a badly done tattoo, ink not very deep at all. She's on her 10th session and has another 4 or so to go to get it removed.

I appreciate that its hard to believe ok..the lady who operates the business worked previously in London for eight years doing tattoo removal.

Just to clarify. ..the tattoos I had were outline tattoos and not areas that were coloured in.

Have you considered going to a tattoo studio which does laser, rather than a therapie clinic? They are hair removal specialists, whereas tattoo studios specialises in everything tattoo related.

They are the same machines used in both places, only difference is its cheaper in the Tattoo Studios.

I've been getting it done every 6-8 weeks on a few now for over a year and not a single difference since the beginning. :(

Where another tattoo cleared up pretty quick

Got working on three a good while back.

All black ink and all done in the last 3-4 years.

1 faded nicely over about 7-8 treatments and was able for a cover up.

2 After about year and a half, every 6-8 weeks as was told. Just look the same as they did when i first went in.

Had all 3 done by the same person. And all treatments were the same place (except for the first 2 sessions which were done elsewhere). I guess my body just ain't taking to it, just gonna keep trying and sure see what happens :D

But it was the same machine used both in the clinic where i got it done first and in the studio which cost half the price.

You will find that the biggest difference most likely lies in the skill and knowledge of the person doing the laser removal for you.
