Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That was a lovely cross, Rooney should swap with Kagawa, see how he Kagawa can influence the game from CAM.

    Kagawa looks done for.

Great. Kag with a great assist and then has to limp off....

That was some mess defending that corner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭Corvo

Van Persies movement is just a cut above anything I have seen in a while and Rooney has the skill and vision (along with Kagawa) to pick him out.

    Great play

I'm just really surprised it wasn't! You'd back Chico to knock it in.

    Very open game.

Like a goal before half time for us

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Yeah enjoying it I have to say.

Both side look dangerous in attack, but shakey in defence.

United should have had another goal from the offside, but that was an awful dive from Buttner.

EDIT: I'll see at half time, but my first instinct was that RVP "might" have been off for the first ball.

Amazing how many will chose to ignore the much more important moment

Enjoyable game, though not quite as good as the first 25 minutes naturally! :pac:

I was looking for Rooney and even wondered if he was on the bench for a moment. I know he can play at the head of the midfield but is that just Fergie being a bit eccentric with the shape or just making do preferring him to Scholes or Giggs?

Seriously? He's been at the heart of most of United's good play.

Rooney is there on merit. He has played every game there since he came back from the gash/injury and has been absolutely brilliant in each game. Could have been Fergie being eccentric with the shape initially but it has worked really well so we've stuck with it.

Ah well there's the problem ;) He was invisible for the first 20something minutes. Kagawa I saw more of, though that might have been as he was getting fouled and bumped around a bit.

    Time to shine Nani

    Rooney wide left now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

This game might actually suit Nani, very technical opponents and not physical . . Time to shine

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

It was clear Kagawa was struggling with an injury.

Although I would have thought Anderson would have been coming in to be honest. It would certainly make more sense with this formation.

It did seem like Kagawa had a bit of knock, but I hope that's why he's been taken off. He would have had two assists if the linesman had gotten his call right.

I hate when you think the ball is going one way ( ie towards goal ), only to find it is going the opposite direction.

Agreed! I thought Evans header was heading into the top corner

    evans header?

    Correct.

Perhaps some of Uniteds defending can be put down to this.

My TV is also tilted to the left a bit, surely this is influencing play.

Buttner was way too slow getting back there...

I think it's Upton Park where the camera is positioned up really high in the stadium. As a result every single kick looks like it's going the opposite way to the way it actually is. Makes for some seriously frustrating viewing.

Just as a matter of interest, is Powell injured? Seems to be getting very few chances even in games like this.

Brilliant from Rooney there. Free kick was poor but the tackle and the subsequent cross were very good. Pity they couldn't finish it off.
