Dog Bucket List

I hope it's ok to post something a bit light hearted. I just read an article entitled 50 things to do before you die - if you're a dog

My two have not done even nearly all of them. They will never visit another continent, nor will they ever "bag their owner a date" considering we got them as a couple. A personalised kennel is not likely, neither are interested in the washing machine or the TV and I think both know what their reflection is. Poor Harley would loose his life in an open top car. So I think 38 out of 50 is as good as it's going to get for my boys.

Is there anything on the list you would like to do with your dog that you haven't yet? Anything you did but was a disaster, anything you'd never do?

    Here is the list.

    1. Flop down in front of a morning fire - done
    2. Go for a swim in the sea - done
    3. Go mad in the snow - done (harley has, phoe was too bald last year)
    4. Dig up a flower bed - done
    5. Do the 'Beethoven' shake and soak everyone around you - DONE!
    6. Have your own spot on the sofa - yep
    7. Accompany your owner on a run/cycle ride - done
    8. Attend a family picnic - done
    9. Help your owner bag a date
    10. Cheer your owner up when they are down - all the time!
    11. Visit a different continent
    12. Roll around in a really stinky, muddy puddle - done, regularly.
    13. Ruin a pair or slippers or shoes - yep
    14. Sleep in your owners bed - yep
    15. Wake your owner with a big wet sloppy kiss - done
    16. Chase a cat during a dream - I assume so
    17. Learn the word for 'sit' in another language
    18. Join in a football game in the park - yep
    19. Meet a famous dog
    20. Try your paws at dancing - yep
    21. Convince your owner you can howl English words - howl, talk, sing
    22. Get filthy within 30 minutes of a bath - YES
    23. Howl along with your favourite song - yep
    24. Ride in an open top car
    25. Learn to skateboard
    26. Have a personalised Christmas stocking - of course
    27. Show the postman who's boss - through the window
    28. Be a ring bearer at a wedding - not ring bearer but Harley did feature in our photos
    29. Try to follow a squirrel up a tree - squirrel up a tree, deer through the woods, duck down the river, chicken across the garden
    30. Go to work with your owner - yep
    31. Have your own social media page - yep
    32. Bound through a forest - regularly
    33. Have a personalised kennel
    34. Go on a boat and get your sea legs - does it count if the boat was on land?
    35. Play frisbee on the beach - Yep
    36. Receive your own birthday card - yep
    37. Steal someone's lunch when they're not looking - This is Phoes speciality.
    38. Watch an entire episode of 'The Washing Machine'
    39. Eat doggy ice cream - yep
    40. Create a diversion and steal another dog's dinner
    41. Rug a doggy marathon
    42. Receive a doggy birthday cake - yep
    43. Rip the stuffing out of a pillow or cushion - cushion?? Try couch!
    44. Unwrap birthday presents - christmas pressies
    45. Watch Lassie on TV
    46. Be in a family portrait - yep
    47. Have a stand off with your own reflection
    48. Have a favourite local pub
    49. Star in a YouTube video - yep
    50. Sleep in a boutique dog hotel - does a "boutique" tent count?

One of mine (cough Oliver Cough) has attended many a family picnic, sadly not his family though. Also seen off dangerous fishermans sambo's and feral bargeman's sausage rolls!

Lucky he's cute and gets a laugh for his naughty bahaviour from his victims!
(I now put him on lead when I see anything that could be someone with food, but he has a nose like a bloodhound!)

No swimming either, my two don't like water, but have both made and destroyed many a sandcastle, and been burried in the sand.

No foreign hols either, but been to uk, no ball games, no washing machine (meerkat manor was Oliver's fav for a while), no wedding type ones, but will work on the finding a date for me ;)

Tiffi can howl Helllloooooooooooooooo when she feels like it.
Both have been on TV (st pats day parade on the news) does that count for meeting someone famous?

Done pretty much all of what you have except gone on a boat although there's a submerged wreck on bettystown beach that they always explore when the tide is out:p

    45. Watch Lassie on tv. Coco will watch ANY dog/cat programme on tv. Her favourite is one man and his dog, it involves all her favourites, dogs, sheep and whistles!

    48. Have a favourite local pub. Does a favourite bistro that serves wine count? Bistro BT in Bettystown, they were there three times last week! The owner always has doggy biscuits and water bowls for the canine clients.

Ah well the boat I counted was on the shore, so if mine counts then so does yours :D

    Yes a bistro definitely counts!
