Server not found, how to fix?

I just recently moved to Eircom 8Mb broadband (not NGB, just standard).
I'm getting the "Server not found" error a lot these days when browsing. Reloading the page always works so its just an annoyance more than anyting else. Its as if the DNS is slow or unmresponsive

Is there anything I can do to tweak things and fix it at my end?
    I have reset my router,
    Optomised MTU to 1492
I'm pulling IP and DNS automatically from Eircom, will I try entering DNS servers manually? Would OpenDns be a better option?
Is there anything else I could try?

    Try open Dns. No harm.

Try a mates router at your gaff and rule the router out.
