I seen the army/garda escort the bomb disposal van through the junction of the Malahide Rd and turn right towards Clarehall but there has been nothing on breakingnew.ie

    Anyone hear or see anything?.

A friend lives in the area, he texted me last night saying there was a pipe bomb left a few doors down from his house, so probably that. It's all over his Facebook too.

Obviously not confirmed, but he said nothing happened, it was removed or something.

Pipe Bombs and shootings at houses are so common in some areas nowadays that they don't even get any media interest,Its a sad sign of the times we live in .

That isn't true at all. Does anyone know if this was a viable device? If it wasn't it's not going to make the media as nobody is interested in hearing about a non-threatening device.

The majority of Bomb squad call-outs are to hoax / non-viable devices.

I have to disagree with this, a little.

I have no idea if the one last night was viable, but there was a viable one, which exploded, in Riverside (Clonshaugh) about two weeks ago which never made the media. It was at the end of my road, the damage is still being repaired on the house at the moment and CCTV being set up. Absolutely no media reports on it.

    +1 on the above post.

afaik, the devices are being planted by one, or two little scrotes living in the area and it's drug related. It's everyone else who suffers though. Thank god nobody has been killed (yet), but one of these pipe bomb attacks in Belcamp destroyed the entire front of a house, where a baby weeks old lives.

Same situation in the Clonshaugh one. Bomb left in the front porch, front of the house blown to pieces, with a baby/young toddler in the house.

According to local rumour, it's all drug related, but who knows? All I know is, aside from the Belcamp pipe bomb, none of the others around here have made the media, but they're fairly frequent over the past month. It's not just been the three mentioned in this thread.
