Amazon superflower PSU fan running full speed

    Hi all

I built a PC just under a year ago, and included the Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W PSU. For about the last week or so, the PSU fan starts to run at full speed for about 5 minutes after I turn on the pc before slowing down to a normal speed. Generally the only programme running in these instances would be chrome. I am using Windows 7, 64 bit.

I am wondering if this is a sign of an impending problem with the PSU? I bought it from hardwareversand if that makes any difference (don't have any experience of returning items to them).

Perhaps its a buildup of dust? Have you ever cleaned the power supply with a can of compressed air before?

    Hi N64

thanks for that. Had a look there and can't really see much dust in it at all. Also would the fact that it slows down to normal levels after a while (and stays slowed down) mean it's likely to be something else causing the problem?

First five minutes, possible that its slowing after the HDDs spin down?
