Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You know the way that everyone asks:

    "best quote from a film",
"best legs on a girl in a gangster movie", etc

    And also.....

"Best battle...." like Bulge or Tobruk or Monte Cassino...or whatever.

I'd like to know from those of you the greatest military mistake or disaster or embarrasement in the last 30 years.

Going back to 1998 when US forces tried to deploy into Mogadishu and completely got it wrong, they were dragged through the streets and had to be rescued by Malaysian paratroopers. We all make mistakes. But that's just one example. Sri infantry attempted to pierce into North Tamil territory in 2004. They turned back against their orders and all were sent back to their deaths.

    So....major disasters in and failures...

ooooh let's not forget Brezhnev in Afghanistan.
