PC upgrade for Photographer

Hi Guys, I'd appreciate your advice on upgrading my motherboard/CPU for photo editing using Photoshop/Capture One etc. I shoot mostly in RAW and processing in taking longer. I was going to go with something like Asus P8Z77-V, i7 CPU and 16GB Ram. Is this overkill or can you help with something better. Thanks.
