How do I stop the dog from barking at cars or people outside the front window?

She doesn't do it to everyone but she absolutely hates the postman. Any ideas appreciated. The dog is a labrador/springer spaniel mongrel and is 6 years old (endless energy still). Any ideas appreciated. The dog is a labrador/springer spaniel mongrel and is 6 years old (endless energy still). It's my housemates dog and I know it annoys him too. I've been living here a few months and thought I might try and resolve it myself as I am working on training her in other areas, she gets distracted too easily outside and doesn't listen to commands.

She always runs over to other dogs, it's embarrassing because she just isn't well trained.
