Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's that evening classes time of the year, so what are you learning or teaching yourself at the moment.

I've just taken my first horseriding lesson since I was 16.
I start Sevillanas lessons - a type of traditional Spanish dance tonight, and just in case that puts me in danger of having my man card revoked I plan on getting to the range more to improve my Glock 9mm groupings.

What are you learning or teaching yourself?

Pure Data. It's hard as Hell.

Screw the man card bull, I want to learn how to do all those fancy ballroom dances and swing dance.

I'm studying French & Spanish in college, but I'm pretty much teaching myself German. I didn't pick it as a third subject because people said it was impossible, raging I listened to them! It's lovely and it's not too bad.

I study Capoeira and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu once a week, twice time allowing.

One of the GFs is a linguist so she has been teaching us German.

I have been studying and practicing cooking on an ongoing hobby basis and getting quite good at it. The benefits of that show in both my health and my pocket and my mood.

I also practice vipassana meditation and give a free "class" (if you could call it that) to some local students and other folk.

Jiu jitsu is awesome, I did it for a while in college. Would love to have time again

Sports massage is painful massage. I remember the massage I had to get because I half assed foam rolling and my quads were so tight that they were causing knee pain when I squatted.

    Hurt so much :(

French. I want to increase my fluency further and then piss around France for a few months next year, hopefully.

I always thought to learn sign language would be pretty cool and I've kind of being looking into it.

And I've also wanted into get into some MMA training.

Quite the combo I've got planned :D

I've set aside some time to upskill - starting in Sept. up to Christmas. I was lucky enough to receive a social welfare payment; and using the time productively.

    Official study:

FETAC Train the Trainer (10 week)
TEFL Certification (online and weekend course)
    ECDL Core (online, self-study)
Finally learning to drive - now on learner permit and ready to book the test.
Safe Pass (just to have it, and received the card yesterday)
Adobe Expert Cert (in Photoshop & Dreamweaver)
Preparing for my Spanish Dilpoma (DELE)

    Non-official:

    Re-learning HTML (now HTML5)
Courses with local enterprise board of Starting-up Your Own Business etc
Starting to get back into German study (Post LC, 5 yers ago)

    I hate being un-productive.

Oh woops, seems like I have much to learn. I presume yoy mean we? If so, probably not, I've been at the wrong Pagan rituals obviously, probably one for the slow :(

I shall soon love to ride a broom. The only reason no one can fly one is no one has actually tried to do it. Mind you, I won't be trying to fly off any cliffs or anything, not until I get my full flying colours.

Yea - you're so right......I did Swedish Massage last year, which was relaxing and enjoyable. So this is really different, in that we have to use our knuckles and elbows on people, when it's needed. And it is so so sore on people - at the minute we're practising on each other and I have come away some weeks in complete agony.

Though I was with a physio yesterday who done some work on the right side of my back - up the right side of my spine and into my glutes - I never felt pain like it in my life - and her answer to me when I let a yelp out of me was "healthy tissue doesnt cause any pain". So that was me put in my box.

But it's good to get a regular enough sports massage done, if you can, it will keep the muscles nice and lengthened (or do some good yoga stretching).

French for work, but not really getting into it. Every time I start a conversation with a French person I tend to switch to Italian without even realising which leaves them looking a bit confused and me feeling embarrased. And Arabic for me as I have always had a fascination with the language. I am at a point where I can order in my local Arabic restaurant and exchange greetings and goodbyes and talk about the weather etc. I am pretty terrible still, but I absolutely love it!

Studying fine art (3rd yr !) I like the history and theory also. Having to stand up in front of people and explain your work has given me a huge amount of confidence in public speaking and in general my over all self worth has gone up by 100%

I've been doing a floristry course for a couple of weeks. Haven't really had a hobby that gets me out of the house in the evenings for a few years and it's amazing how nice it is to be finally doing something.
