Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I got given an iPhone 3g yesterday. I do not know what software it is running on though.

The battery is completely dead and when I connect it to my computer it doesnt show up in the devices for itunes..

Also when it is charging it just shows the 'itunes and usb screen'.

The home button is broken which makes it hard for me to put it into DFU mode.

Could anybody please help me to get this iPhone working.

    Any help us appreciated! :)

Sounds to me like its destined for the heap. Busted hone button and needing to be connected to iTunes=not possible...

Use tinyumbrella to put in DFU and then restore in iTunes. I think home button replacement is fairly straight forward on 3G and 3gs

Connect iPhone to your pc open tiny click on enter dfu mode.itunes should open with a message saying iTunes has found an iPhone in dfu mode for the iPhone to work it needs to be restored or something to that effect, click ok but be warned if the iPhone was ever jail broke and unlocked you will loose this!!

If you can get TU to put it in DFU iTunes should tell you it has discovered an iPhone in recovery mode and it has to be restored. If it doesn't try a different USB port or close iTunes and try again
