Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Normally I wouldn't have even bothered watching this, but as a neutral this is a fantastic game. All credit to Reading for taking it to them - even at 4-1 they seem the more likely to add to their total.

Hope they go the distance - definitely the better team tonight (and they were robbed of a penalty a few mins ago!)

Walcott has done ok in fairness.

How was that not a penalty?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,801 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Chamakh is a really, really awful footballer.

Guessing the same way the Reading one wasn't earlier

FFS Walcott. Should have scored there.

    no wonder Chamakh was fuming.

2 clear penalties not given by the ref. One for both sides.

Jenkinson's crossing is so so poor. BUT then again we have nobody that can cross.

Both were poor decisions but this one was incredibly clear cut.

Though the ref is pretty much refusing to give us a free kick so I'm not surprised

Huge amount of shocks in the cup tonight so far and with Chelsea and United meeting this round I wouldn't be surprised to see a smaller team make it all the way to the final.

    Giroud and Eidfeld coming on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,801 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Why is Chamakh still on the pitch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,118 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

We may take the druggie off. He's beyond useless. Get Giroud on for some gametime quick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,961 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

FFS Walcott. Should have scored there.

To be fair to him, he's the only one putting in any sort of effort from what I've seen. The rest of them are too busy trying to be clever and end up being outmuscled on the ball most of the time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,456 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Gnabry has the first touch of a buffalo tonight. He's better than that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,500 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

Ugh Chamakh is still on. Should have come off instead of Gnabry.

Pure goal scorer is Giroud. He will find his form soon as he gets used to the English game.

Bullet header by Giroud. Game on!

    4-2

Damn PaddyPower and his shocking odds on an Arsenal win at H/T.

How long til Giroud and Walcott score in the league now?

The worry now (as a neutral) is Reading try to defend what they have and invite the pressure on. I don't think they'll hold out if they do as they've gotten this far by taking the game to Arsenal relentlessly

... but you have to love football really - the whole game can transform just like that! :)

Giroud has a league goal too I think

They already have, do try to keep up.

Giroud is a class above these defenders. Brilliant there.

    Tommy looks a player

This game could actually be very good for Girouds confidence in a weird way.

It's his best performance for us so far funnily enough IMHO.

Have time and space gone through some kind of ****ing transformation in the recent "past"? My point is that the 2 pointless goals they scored tonight will be used to excuse more poor performances and missed chances.

Looks a good prospect that Eisfeld lad. German is he?

Arsenal keep launching the ball long - why?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,456 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Yet another useless corner that didn't beat the first defender.
Again I ask, what do we do in training?

There's enough wrong with the teams performance tonight without making up pretend reasons to be angry.

Looking for Giroud, he's the only one creating anything.

You made your point very poorly, I'm not the only one to think you were under the impression that neither player had scored in the league this season.

It's strange for a football fan to consider any goal "pointless", for each player those goals will have given them a boost of confidence. We need players who are confident in their ability to score goals and make a difference.

If Chamakh was challenged by an anorexic midget in the air he'd still fall over.
