I would die of nerd excitement if it was Revan. I love games and I love movies... playing KOTOR for the first time made as big a mark on me as seeing Episode IV for the first time... yeah I said it.

The reveal in KOTOR was indeed one of the best points in gaming imo.

The kotor era is probably one of my favourite time periods. clone wars had potential but the films made a balls of it, the series improved it but with it ending at episode 3 it goes downhill again.

Kotor is old enough that you shouldn't run into much bother on a laptop.

There hasn't been a good star wars game in ages.

    cool thanks.

The idea it's raven is a bit ridiculous though. If it is his helmet then I think that's a really cool nod to the series.

Oh god, Super Star Wars was fun, if punishingly difficult: Super Empire Strikes Back though made Dark Souls look like a Super Mario game and just beat the player around the head with a rubber house pipe from level 1.

The whole Dark Forces / Jedi Knight series were a total blast though, definitely one of my personal high watermarks with Star Wars games. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast was a great game.

Playing a 2 weeks long battle of Galactic Conquest in split screen as I drove my brother back across the galaxy on ground and in orbit in Battlefront 2. Memories :)

Please 3rd person DICE, bots, and ground take-off to orbit and back again.

I doubt it is Revan given that there are heavy rumours that Serkis is playing the main villain with Driver being his Vader-like henchman (who we see in the trailer)

Revan wouldn't have a superior but Serkis playing Plagious with Driver as his apprentice would make more sense.

Someone has said that the main villain (not the guy in the Forest) makes the demon in the Exorcist look like a pussy cat.

Just let him be wearing Revan's mask.

If there's any kind of nod to KOTOR in this film I'll cry tears of joy.

Well, that trailer proves proper Star Wars is back !!

Exactly. I think that alone would be a massive, massive nod. Balsy if true. Although if you think about it it's win win. The fans familiar with kotor will cream themselves, the fans who aren't will just love the design anyway cuz it's one of the nicest bits of sw universe designs out there and very fitting.

The only problem with that though is if he's rocking Revans mask ....I'll want him to win

I dont know about wearing the mask. For anyone who knows about the EU the idea of sith wearing masks is quite common and Revans mask just makes it better. For the unwashed masses who have just seen the films they might think they are just trying to make him like Vadar.

Red Letter Media must spend a lot of time / money on clean-up, half their videos seem to involve trashing their own sets

Is KOTR still part of the star wars universe? Was it not disowned along with loads of the expanded universe?

Is KOTR still part of the star wars universe? Was it not disowned along with loads of the expanded universe?

This is a tricky one to answer, I think. Yes, Disney came out to say that the official canon will be formed by their movies/TV shows. However, Disney have also handed over the Star Wars license to EA (Electronic Arts; a major gaming publisher) for all Star Wars related games. EA are currently publishing and supporting Star Wars: The Old Republic, a Massively Multiplayer Onling Role Playing Game (MMORPG) which is releasing an expansion pack based around the character of Revan in a couple of weeks.

So, technically, EA have made content/a game that relates to Star Wars lore created AFTER the Disney deal, which could suggest Disney gave their approval. Furthermore, they have made Revan out to be a 'bad guy' in this new game. For anyone who has played the original Knights of the Old Republic (made in 2002),
You were Revan, and therefore could choose to become a good guy or remain as the bad guy
. In EA's Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011 - I think!), Revan appeared to be a possible good guy and ally to the player because he opposed the Emperor. But, now, as I mentioned above, he appears to be the bad guy again. It's all very confusing and perhaps I should look into the finer details more, but it looks like a creative decision was made to definitively state Revan = 'bad guy'. This, of course, could fit in to the idea that the Sith in the trailer for Force Awakens is taking ancient Sith relics that belonged to powerful Sith, one of whom was Revan.

I suppose what I am saying is; it's too early to tell if Revan can be in the new movie, or at least referred to. The new game suggests he could be 'official canon', or it might be nothing more than a subtle nod to the fans of the KoTOR and TOR games without any name being mentioned in the movie.

That shot of the Falcon is moronic, it just screams THERE'S A CAMERA HERE! and ruins the immersion. Abrams all over again, I hated what he did with Trek but thought he would be better suited to Star Wars. I'm worried about this now.
Ive read this 3 times and I dont understand it, what do you mean it screams theres a camera here? Couldnt you say that about every posed shot and scene in every film ever made?

I think he is trying to say it isn't possible to view a ship manoeuvring like that from the perspective shown in the clip - therefore, it looks more fake. Perhaps he would prefer all action involving the Falcon would take place inside the Falcon and from a cockpit view, or something similar?

Clearly, the original poster is not a fan of spaceship-porn :P And not a fan of this:
